About Base Camp: Redwoods

Base Camp is a week-long accelerator and retreat designed for people building ambitious, internet-native projects—films, albums, newsletters, startups, and more. It’s a space to step away from routine, focus intensely on your next thing, and be surrounded by others who are equally obsessed with making meaningful work online.

For this Base Camp, Creator Camp teamed up with Playbook to support how the cohort organized and shared their work.

Playbook is a modern, visual-first file manager that lets creatives:

• Browse files as beautiful visual boards instead of plain folders

• Find assets quickly through visual search

• Share work in a way that feels more like a portfolio than a traditional cloud drive

During camp, Andrea Juwono, Playbook’s Head of Community, joined us on site and led a hands-on workshop exploring how Playbook can streamline creative workflows—from first draft to final delivery.

Moments from Camp

Throughout the week, the redwoods became both backdrop and collaborator. The cohort documented their time together through films, music, photographs, and poems, turning camp into a living archive of what happens when strangers show up curious, generous, and ready to create.

One camper reflected that it’s rare to meet a group of strangers and feel so close so quickly—that experiences like this might only happen a handful of times in a lifetime, and that these memories feel “important, permanent, and lovely.”

The work shared from camp captures:

• Morning writing, drawing, and composing sprints

• Long walks and conversations under the trees

• Experiments, rough cuts, and unexpected collaborations

Each piece is a fragment of the larger feeling of Base Camp: Redwoods—a reminder that the internet can still be a place for honest, thoughtful, and playful creative work when people are given the time and space to build it together.
